Lady Marmalade is Italian!
February is a great month to visit Italy as all hell breaks loose in two of its biggest festivals. Megan McCormick slips around at the Battle of the Oranges in Ivrea in which tonnes of oranges are chucked about for three days by neighbourhood teams celebrating a twelfth century revolt against an evil count. Sydney Mardi Gras: 12th February - 4th March
The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is all about freedom of self expression and the community claiming it's place in the city. The festival kicks off in early February and reaches its climax with the Parade on the first Saturday in March. Watch Globe Trekker's Justine Shapiro take part in her first Mardi Gras Parade. |
