If you've been on the road for some time, you may need to
recover awhile at Varkala, on India's south west coast.
Climate
In the south of India it's never really cool, but pleasantly
warm in winter. After the 'cool' season temperatures begin
to rise in February and by April it's unbearable.
Highlights
- Visit the Mineral Springs
Varkala is an important Hindu pilgrim centre. The mineral
springs here are said to have curative properties.
Get a massage
The massage technique has been a closely guarded secret for
thousands of years, but for many tourists it's a welcome revival
from the toils of the road. |
