NORFOLK, VA (August 17, 2004) - TotalVid Inc., the
video download site with the largest travel video download
library in the world, announced today an expansive distribution
agreement with Pilot Productions, the producer of the
highly acclaimed adventure travel series Globe Trekker and
six-time winner of the American Cable Ace Awards. The distribution
deal is the first of its kind for Pilot Productions.
Online travel videos are a new phenomenon, and TotalVid,
with its hundreds of hours of travel content, hopes to meet
the currently unmet demand of information-seeking travelers.
"This is a great opportunity for both travel enthusiasts
and people who simply want to learn more about various places
around the world. Globe Trekker travel videos are renown,
and we are proud to offer them as downloads on the TotalVid
site," says Chris Smythe, TotalVid's Vice President
of Content.
One of the first group of videos to premiere on the TotalVid
site will be Globe Trekker's City Guides series. Destinations
in this series include: Paris, San Francisco, London, Rome,
New York, Beijing, and more. The videos will be available
for download on the TotalVid website for $3.99. Consumers can view the videos on their Window-based
computers for as many times as they want over a 7-day period.
DVDs and VHS tapes will also be available.
This is a major development for Pilot Productions as it continues
to expand its brand and reach by tapping into the distribution
power of the Internet. |
